This work combines traditional painting and texture technique with Indigenous American songs. The sheet music was hand painted then torn and in this fashion the birch trees evolved with the songs embedded in their bark. The title reflects the actual tribal name and nature of each song as recorded by Natalie Curtis in the 1800s.
